Mayor Cindy Fortin

Hello fellow Peachlanders,

​

         It has been an honour and a privilege to be your Mayor for the last two terms, and I ask that you RE-ELECT me -- Cindy Fortin -- on October 15th, so that I may continue to serve the community we love.

         Experience has taught me that Peachland needs a Mayor who will continue to positively represent and advocate for the community, who has cultivated strong relationships with Ministers and representatives at the higher levels of government, and who has the courage and conviction to stand up for our community and the residents who live here. These are important attributes that I bring to the table.

           As your Mayor, I have been a part of many positive accomplishments over the years, including the much needed new water treatment plant, affordable seniors housing x2, amenities for young families, bringing in a new financial institution, electric vehicle charging stations, a re-evaluation of the lake level management, and the purchase of Turner Park as a legacy for our community -- to name just a few*.

           In addition to my work on Peachland Council, I am a director on the Board of the Central Okanagan Regional District, Vice-Chair of the Okanagan Basin Water Board, and on the Board of the Peachland Seniors Support Society (working on our second affordable housing building). I am also Chair of the Mayor’s Task Force on Climate Change and Healthy Watersheds committees, sit on the Peachland Fire Hall advisory committee, Vice-Chair of the Westside Sewer Treatment Plant, and a director on Kelowna Airport Advisory Board.  Please see my priority list on my VISION page.

           It is important that Peachland is a place that feels like home to all its residents, from the very young, to the young at heart --, now, and for future generations.
